The inaugural State of Origin Series was hosted in December, 2017 in Melbourne during the National Championships weekend. The event featured Victoria and New South Wales in the Men’s, Women’s & Mixed categories. This was followed up with a series in Sydney, 2018. 
The growth of State Dodgeball aims to build a healthy, strong rivalry between states, and further aid the development of high performance dodgeball and Premier League in those respective states, helping foster a player pathway to the Australian Dodgeroos squads.
DA will be hosting an expanded State of Origin series on a yearly basis, during the same weekend as the Australian Premier League National Championships. The host city will be rotated each year.
