Australian Dodgeroos Win Triple Medals In Malaysia
The Australian Dodgeroos have tasted more success on the continental stage, winning medals across three categories, including gold, at the 2024 East Asian Dodgeball Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Australia’s performance was highlighted by the Men’s Dodgeroos squad, who went unbeaten over eight matches to be crowned champions, comprehensively defeating Japan in the Semi Final, followed by host’s Malaysia, 17 – 7 in the Final.
The Mixed Dodgeroos put in an amazing shift, falling agonisingly short in the Final against Malaysia, claiming the silver medals. While our Women took home a well deserved bronze, prevailing 11 – 9 in the 3rd-Place Play-off, over Malaysia in an intense contest.
A delegation of 29 Australian players and staff were present at the Inspen Indoor Stadium, where eight nations participated across Asia: Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
Dodgeball Australia (DA) is the National Sporting Organisation that is responsible for overseeing and developing the sport across Australia, including our national teams, the Australian Dodgeroos. DA is aligned with the World Dodgeball Association and the Asian Dodgeball Federation.
The East Asian Dodgeball Championships was streamed live across the world, with each of the four courts accessible to watch via a multi-platform.

To come away with a gold, silver and bronze is a remarkable achievement, and is up there with one of Australia’s best tournaments to date”.
