Dodgeball Federation Australia (DFA) is an official affiliate member of the World Dodgeball Association (WDA) – the international Governing Body of Dodgeball. The WDA manages and helps develop Dodgeball around the world, and oversees continental bodies, which includes 52 nations and approximately 5 million participants.
The long-term objective of the WDA is to become an official Olympic and Paralympic sport, aiding the development and recognition of Dodgeball around the world. This process is scheduled to take between 12 – 16 years, where plans are in place to have this goal come to fruition.
The DFA is also an affiliate member of the Asian Dodgeball Federation (ADF), where our goal is to aid the development of the sport across Asia, and enhance the sport’s profile within the region.
The Asian Dodgeball Federation governs the sport across the region and acts as the continental representative for Dodgeball in Asia.
Through our relevant affiliations, the Dodgeroos – Australia’s national teams – participate in the Asian Dodgeball Championships, the largest and most inclusive tournament throughout the Asian region.
The Asian Dodgeball Championships also act as a qualifying process for the World Cup, held bi-annually by the WDA.
The next World Cup is scheduled to be staged in Manchester, England 2016.
