DFA To Re-Brand As Dodgeball Australia
The DFA is excited to announce the formal name-change from Dodgeball Federation Australia to Dodgeball Australia (DA), effective immediately. The re-brand also includes the unveiling of our new logo and a website refresh.
The reworked logo pays homage to our roots with a fresh, updated version of the original DFA design, when established in 2014. Dodgeball Australia’s image represents our past, whilst looking forward to the future.
The change in name brings us in-line with many other National Sporting Organisations (NSO) recognised by Sport Australia, whom Dodgeball Australia has been a member body since 2018.
Dodgeball Australia has many exciting developments and plans on the horizon in 2021. As we move past what we hope is the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we look forward to a new and brighter era under the Dodgeball Australia brand.
As we look back with fond memories to the organisation’s roots, since our inception the DA has been a proud affiliate member of the World Dodgeball Association (WDA) and Asian Dodgeball Federation.
The WDA is a recognised world body by the Global Associations of International Sports Federations (GAISF) – an umbrella organisation for International Sport and the pathway to acquiring recognition for Dodgeball by the IOC, with the aspiration to partake in world events, such as the Olympic Games.
Our long-term goals and objectives align with the WDA, as we move towards the next chapter in Dodgeball Australia’s legacy.
“The past six years have been an incredible journey for so many people. We’ve achieved a lot of great things. The hosting of an international event, obtaining official recognition for the sport from the Australia government via Sport Australia, national team success with the Chemist Warehouse Australian Dodgeroos, to growing the game locally via competitions and events. They’ve all been amazing highlights, and we thank everyone who has been on the journey with us. We have further exciting projects on the horizon that we look forward to sharing soon.
Our re-brand to Dodgeball Australia seeks to continue the solid foundations set since 2014, as we look towards developing our sport to the next level” – Dodgeball Australia President, Robert Di Fabio.
Dodgeball Australia would like to thank our past and present partners, players, coaches, staff, volunteers and furthermore, the overall Dodgeball community around Australia. Your contributions and commitment to not only the Chemist Warehouse Australian Dodgeroos, but to Dodgeball Australia have been integral to the growth, development and visions for a new era of dodgeball in Australia.
