Record Ten Nations Confirmed For 2017 Asia Pacific Championships
A record ten nations will be competing at the 2017 Asia Pacific Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event takes place from September 29 – October 1.
The inaugural Asia Championships was held in Melbourne, 2015 where the Australian Dodgeroos took our the triple crown in the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Division. On this occasion, four nations participated – Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The top three nations in each category will earn qualification into the 2018 World Cup in New York, at the world renowned Madison Square Garden. The Women’s Dodgeroos have already qualified as defending champions, having prevailed at the 2016 World Cup in Manchester.
An increase of six nations in 2017 for Asia’s pinnacle event is a fantastic feat, and illustrates the growth of Asian Dodgeball. The DFA looks forward to being involved in its continual development over the coming years.
