DFA Brisbane Open | September 7, 2019
Dodgeball Federation Australia is excited to host a new event, the DFA Brisbane Open on Saturday, September 7. The tournament is open to males and females of all skill and fitness levels, no playing experience is required.
The event will be a curtain-raiser to the inaugural Australian Dodgeball Premier League (ADPL) Queensland season, set to begin in October (further info to follow).
DATE / TIME
Saturday, September 7
12:00pm – 12:50pm | Open Training / Tutorial (Optional)
1:00pm – 4:00pm | Brisbane Open Tournament
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
We will run through the rules and coordinate some training drills from 12:00pm, before kicking-off the round-robin tournament at 1:00pm. Each team will play a few matches on the day, before having a Finals Series to conclude the tournament.
The DFA ran an Open Day in Brisbane on April 13, where we introduced the 5-ball game and ADPL style rules to local dodgeballers.
The objective of the day is to introduce the 5-ball Cloth Ball game and World Dodgeball Association regulations, used in the ADPL in Victoria and New South Wales and at worldwide events involving our Australian Dodgeroos national teams.
RULES & REGULATIONS
At the event, we will run through the rules in detail by having an open training session prior to the tournament. If players aren’t sure, don’t stress. We can go through any rules on the day.
